The colourful and lively town market on Mondays has a very old tradition. It dates back to the first half of the1700s. In this event they still indulge in the habit of trying the local speciality “trippe” (tripe) accompanied by the good local Friulan wines.
Many different events make a visit to the fortifications and to the town even more interesting. Palmanova is unique worldwide. It has preserved its complete and visible design of the star-shaped fortress.
